Towering over the eastern edge of the campgrounds are the balili (limestone) cliffs of the Napier Range. From the privileged position of your own campsite, you can witness the incredible transformation of this striking landscape over the course of the day.
Be sure to be settled into your campsite with a cool drink or a boiling billy in time for the late afternoon show. As the sun drops slow into the west, its fading rays catch the balili and bring it alight in brilliant ambers and glittering hues of orange. While day progresses into night and the campfires grow tall, trace the floating sparks and embers up above to where they are lost within an endless blanket of stars. And when the new day dawns, snuggle back in your swag with a fresh brew and watch as the early morning light breathes new life again into the ancient landscape around.
Camping at Bandilngan is bush camping at its finest. The camp is divided into two areas – quiet camping for those travelling off the grid, and the generator camping where generators can be used from 7am to 8pm. Both campsites offer picnic tables, flushing toilets and hot showers. Campfires are permitted but only in the designated firepits. You will need to bring your own firewood and it is not to be collected from within the Park.
The Park is open seasonally from April to November, however weather and road conditions will determine the exact date of opening and closing. Please see the Park Alerts for up to date information. Advanced bookings can be made for stays between June 1st to October 31st but dates outside of those times will only be made available when the opening/closing of the Park is confirmed.
